Internship Program - 2024
Why should I apply to be a Intern Associate at Winterthur?
The best reason is that you enjoy anticipating ways to help others succeed in their work and achieve their mission. You should enjoy reading, writing, and speaking with others about their ideas, projects, opportunities, and challenges. You should be interested in pursuing personal and team excellence in the work described below.
What qualifications should I have?
We want to work with people who are hungry, humble, and smart. We look for graduate students who are excited about creating and building new businesses using their technical and management experience.
We welcome applications from MBA students and graduate students from information and communications technology disciplines. You should be a current student with a strong academic record, demonstrated leadership experience, a high aptitude and enthusiasm for qualitative and quantitative information, and a servant-leader disposition towards your classmates, teammates, colleagues, and mentors. We reserve special preference for applicants with past work experience as well.
What will I do as a Intern Associate?
You will work directly with Winterthur’s investment team to participate in our internal investment and portfolio value creation meetings. You will begin to meet entrepreneurs, business owners and learn about their businesses. We pair each of our Intern Associates with one of our network partners so you have an opportunity to develop faster into successful searchers or venture investors. You will be asked to apply your expertise to support existing projects and make a real-world difference for the development of portfolio companies.
What will my work schedule look like?
Our Intern Associates typically work two days a week from one of our Partner or portfolio company locations, or remotely. Our Intern Associates typically join us for 12 weeks. We also evaluate Intern Associates to join our team full-time after you graduate. Once you join our team, your development matters to us. Our business works better and is more enjoyable if everyone is constantly getting better at what they do and suggests ways we can get better together.
How can I learn more about Search Funds before starting?
We encourage all new team members to build their acumen on Search Funds by reading and reviewing our recommended resources.
