Data Center Networking Consultant
Winterthur Search Fund and DāSTOR, an enterprise data center solutions provider, are working to provide high-reliability seamless connectivity for clients across the world.
In partnership with DāSTOR, we have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced, technically-minded Data Center Networking Consultant to support our global project team. Reporting to the Principal and Technical Project Manager, the Consultant will provide expertise in advising and designing data center networking solutions that drive efficiency, scalability, and performance for our clients in developing markets. Our Consultant will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to pioneer new data center networking schemes that support worldwide technology development projects.
This is a global (remote) position that offers a part-time/flexible work schedule.
Responsibilities:
Advise decision makers on optimal solutions for designing and implementing data center networking solutions.
Design and develop data center networking schemes, focusing on data center interconnection, optical and fiber networking, and network optimization.
Conduct assessments of existing data center networks to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
Provide technical guidance and support to project teams in developing markets, addressing unique challenges and requirements.
Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in data center networking technologies and apply this knowledge to client projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s or PhD degree preferred) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in designing and implementing data center networking solutions.
Real-world experience working in developing markets, understanding the unique challenges and opportunities in these regions.
Strong understanding of optical fiber network architecture, protocols, and technologies.
Proficiency in network design tools and software.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
Written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with software-defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV).
Knowledge of cloud computing and hybrid cloud environments.
Familiarity with network security best practices and technologies.
Certifications such as CCNP, or similar.

Salary range - USD $150-$300 per hour
